They’re Not from India

We’re going back in time to 1958 in Good Old Kentucky the United States yep not India but the land of Bluegrass and fried chicken. It was here that a brilliant cat breeder named Nikki Horner had a wild dream she wanted to create a breed of cat that would make you do a double take thinking a miniature black panther had invaded your home so she decided to play matchmaker mixing the genes of Burmese and American shorthair cats and after years of meticulous planning Nikki finally succeeded in 1965. She named her creation Bombay cat because she wanted to pay tribute to India’s legendary black panthers because they were actually her inspiration in the first place .Think Bagheera from The Jungle Book in 1970 the cat fanciers Association recognized and registered their first Bombay cat and the rest is history .

A simple brushing once a week is all you need to do to keep them looking sleek and Suave aside from basic hair that is brush their teeth daily clean their ears regularly and trim their nails once in a while .

These guys are pretty healthy cats living for around 15 years although some have been known to hit 20. It’s like they have a secret stash of health potions hidden in their fur keeping them growing strong but even though they may seem Invincible they’re not superheroes without weaknesses .
